Situation: The Marine Corps needed to implement an enterprise data center that would allow them to consolidate existing facilities and systems.
Task: Ensure the successful design, acquisition and delivery by supporting RFP and source selection, including support with project management, systems and architecture engineering, telecommunications engineering and identity and access management.
Action: Cask worked with the Marine Corps to develop requirements, build the acquisition documentation, and support source selection and the subsequent vendor delivery of the Marine Corps Data Center. Cask also provided oversight for the integration of activities across numerous task orders for the $95M Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract.
Outcome: Cask helped the Marine Corps implement best practices in acquisition and delivery of capability, managed by requirements with traceability to business case, analysis of alternatives, engineering criteria, and metrics. One of the keys to success was incorporating contracting and acquisition planning early in the process.
